Washington Life magazine named the Fashion for Paws Runway Show the #1 Fashion Event of 2009 in your “Social Year in Review,” prime-time television special on the CW Network!
I'm on the committee for Fashion for Paws and got 8 models involved: Lena Aburdene, Erik Holzherr, Barbara Merola, Dr. Dondi Dahlgaard, Cara Townsend, Donna Donella, Makeda Saggau-Sackey, and Taryn Fielder. To attend the event, tickets cost $85. I kindly request you buy your tickets through the models I got invovled. They have to raise $3,000 to walk in the runnway show. Donations are tax deductible.
All proceeds from the Fashion for Paws Runway Show directly benefit the more than 30,000 homeless, lost, neglected and abused animals WHS cares for each year in the Washington, DC region, as well as supports vital programs such as Humane Education, Human-Animal Rehabilitation, Humane Law Enforcement, low-cost spay/neuter, sheltering and adoption.
The Fashion for Paws Runway Show includes 3 different categories of models walking the runway. The heart and soul of the event are the fundraising models who agree to raise funds in the weeks leading up to the fashion show and participate in a friendly fundraising competition. The top male and female fundraiser will be awarded the title “Model Washingtonian of the Year,” on the runway on April 10th.

Background on Fashion for Paws:
Fashion for Paws™ (F4P) is a high caliber year round program that infuses the nation's capital with cutting edge high fashion and luxury lifestyle brand events drawing an extraordinary crowd of VIP's, fashion and animal lovers alike all benefiting the Washington Humane Society (WHS).
In just its first 3½ years, the Annual Fashion for Paws™ Spring Runway Show has been a smashing success, selling more than 1000 tickets each year, raising more than $580,000 for WHS and generating a mass amount of media coverage.
The main event, the Annual Spring Fashion for Paws™ Runway Show features sixty well-known personalities as the models on the runway. In 2009, building off of the brand already created through the annual spring runway show that began 3 years earlier, Fashion for Paws launched into a year round program, raising funds all year through an array of themed fringe events, product merchandising, web/blog ad sales, corporate sponsorships, individual gifts, and social marketing/new media, in addition to the annual runway show based in Washington, DC.
